So pleased with how it turned out! My church friends were raving about it.

Directions

1. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
2. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
3. Place the sliced onions at the bottom of the slow cooker.
4. Lay the seasoned ribs on top of the onions.
5. Pour the barbecue sauce over the ribs, making sure they are well covered.
6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the ribs are tender and falling off the bone.
7. Once cooked, carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on a baking sheet.
8. Preheat your oven’s broiler.
9. Brush additional barbecue sauce over the ribs and broil for 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.
10. Serve the ribs hot, garnished with the caramelized onions from the slow cooker.
Variations & Tips

For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the spice rub. If you prefer a sweeter glaze, mix in a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup with the barbecue sauce before pouring it over the ribs. For a smoky flavor, consider adding a few drops of liquid smoke to the sauce. If you have picky eaters, you can serve the sauce on the side, allowing everyone to add as much or as little as they like.
