1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Patties
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
Mix gently with your hands or a spoon until just combined (don’t overmix or the patties will be tough).
Shape the mixture into oval patties, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick.
2. Brown the Patties
Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little oil.
Sear each patty for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. (They don’t need to be fully cooked — just golden on the outside.)
Transfer browned patties to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
3. Make the Gravy
In a small bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
Season with a little salt and pepper.
4. Bake
Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the patties in the baking dish.
Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to thicken the gravy slightly.
5. Serve
Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Spoon extra gravy over the patties when plating.
