Crassula ovata has the appearance of a shrub with a light brown, highly branched stem. The leaves are oval-shaped, very fleshy, and light green, sometimes edged in red. Another characteristic of Crassula ovata leaves is their high water content, which keeps them very turgid. Even the stems have a fleshy texture and branch out to create a rounded crown.
